Christmas Mugs | 3 days ’til Xmas!

Hi friends!

Happy first day of Winter! I hope you are having a wonderful Christmastime! Everyone knows Winter and Christmas are filled with lots of warm holiday drinks, so why not bring out all the Christmas themed mugs?! Mugs are also a great gift to give to someone because let’s be honest, you can never really have enough mugs. I’m pretty sure last Christmas (I gave you my heart), practically everyone who gave my choir teacher (including me) a Christmas gift, included a mug somewhere in there.

So here are a couple ideas to get you in the mood! Or maybe it’s mostly just me sharing my Christmas mug collection??? I could have sworn I had more though…

Favorite Christmas Songs

Hi friends!

This is to make up for the post that didn’t get posted yesterday! I hope that you’re all getting your Christmas shopping done and wrapping your presents for your loved ones. Maybe while you’re doing that gift wrapping you can compile a playlist of some of my favorite Christmas songs to put on in the background!

In no particular order:

  1. Last Christmas by Wham!
  2. Do They Know It’s Christmas by Band-Aid
  3. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Judy Garland
  4. White Christmas by Michael Buble
  5. I’ll Be Home for Christmas by Michael Buble
  6. All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey
  7. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) by Nat King Cole
  8. That’s Christmas to Me by Pentatonix
  9. Mary Did You Know by Pentatonix
  10. Ukrainian Bell Carol
  11. Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses
  12. My Grown-Up Christmas List by Kelly Clarkson
  13. Christmas Time Is Here from Charlie Brown
  14. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Michael Buble
  15. Somewhere In My Memory from Home Alone 2

This is only a few of my favorites, I will be compiling a full Spotify playlist which I will link in my post tomorrow for you to listen to! See you all tomorrow! 🙂

Baking Christmas Gingerbread Cookies!

Hi friends!

Yesterday was pretty busy and filled with Christmas shopping so here’s to 5 more days until Christmas!

Last night I baked some Christmas cookies because I have never actually baked cookies in my entire 18 years of living, oddly enough. I do lots of other baking! Just not cookies haha. I followed this recipe, but I’ll also list the ingredients and steps below for those of you too lazy to click the link!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves (note: I actually didn’t have any of this and my cookies still tasted good so you could do without this if you want!)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 tbsp (1 stick) of unsalted butter; room temperature
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable shortening; room temperature
  • 1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup of unsulfured molasses
  • 1 large egg

Steps:

Sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves, salt and pepper into a medium sized bowl and put aside for later.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and vegetable shortening with a mixer at a high speed for about 1 minute when they’re well combined. Then, add in the light brown sugar and beat until it is light and brown in texture and color for about 2 minutes and then add in the molasses and egg.
Gradually add the flour mixture from before until it makes a stiff dough.
Divide the dough into two thick plastic disks and refrigerate for about 3 hours (I actually did 2 hours because I was on a time crunch so that works too!)

This is actually where I started preheating the oven so make sure you put the racks on the top and bottom thirds of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Once you remove the disks from the fridge, leave them to sit for about 10 minutes until they are room temperature and able to be worked with without cracking. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and sprinkle some flour on the dough (and your rolling pin if you’re using one!). Roll out the dough until it is about 1/8 inch thick and then cut away with your cookie cutters! The website says to place them about an inch apart but you can do a little closer if need be, they don’t grow that much.

I made about 30 cookies with this recipe and my specific cookie cutters (which are actually from Hobby Lobby) but the recipe says it makes about 3 dozen so it could vary depending on your cookie cutter!

I had fun, so I hope you guys enjoy making Christmas cookies!!

7 Days Until Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!!

Ahem, sorry.

Happy 7 days until Christmas friends!!

Last time I said I would do a Blogmas type thing. I did not realize how busy I would be with the end of the semester, so now that it’s over…here I am!! I also said that I had a bunch of posts queued up to write about, but since my friend is doing all Christmas videos the week leading up to Christmas, I am going to do all Christmas blogs the week leading up to Christmas!! I’m so original aren’t I?

This is just a little introduction to the week so here’s a couple of photos that I have been posting on Instagram! If there’s anything you want me to specifically write about, leave it in the comments below. There will be a Christmas wrapping idea post in case some of you want to get creative this year! Not to brag but…I do get complimented on my gift wrapping abilities haha. See you guys tomorrow with a Christmas post (can’t you tell I haven’t decided what it is yet! how lame of me.)

Christmas Time Is Here

Hi friends!

Happy December! I am aware that I am a day late but I have been really busy and ill-prepared so here I am instead. I originally wanted to do a Vlogmas type thing but for this blog…so I guess Blogmas? That probably will not work out exactly the way I want it to (it already hasn’t haha!) so here is this instead!

If you follow me on Instagram however, I upload Christmas themed photos everyday! I have just shared the photo from day one with you 🙂 So last year I wrote a post about a Christmas tree with silver ornaments titled “I’m Dreaming… of a Silver Christmas” or something of the sort, this tree on the other hand is my tiny Christmas tree from Hobby Lobby! He (yes, I have decided that my tree is a “he” named Winston) cost me $4 because Hobby Lobby was having a 50% sale on all Christmas stuff at the end of November. Most of the baubles and the star are from Michael’s Craft Store, which I got for 40% I believe; the larger baubles are from HomeGoods.

There will be more posts but not all of them Christmas themed however because I want to talk about the stuff that I have gotten over the Black Friday weekend and write some reviews! I got to watch Mockingjay Part 2 with my aunt on Thanksgiving (we had Thanksgiving lunch, don’t ask why), and got a PlayStation 4 as well as Battlefront, Assassin’s Creed Unity and UNTIL DAWN! I have been waiting a very long time (2 months, long time right?) to play this game and have watched lots of videos and read so much about this game and its lore so I am very excited to play it! Hopefully I’ll have those posts up for you soon!

I’ll see you guys next time, happy Christmas!

I’m Dreaming… of a Silver Christmas

Good evening internet!

I am a horrible blogger and I apologize greatly because I had a post set up and it was all typed up and done and ready for the queue but I was missing pictures and never got around to getting them to the post so that post is a month late! 😦 Hopefully you will see it this Wednesday though!

Moving on, I decided to get a couple posts together for you guys as a Christmas gift and this is one of them (assuming I stick to it. I really do apologize though, this is prime time for a choir kid due to our winter concert coming up and all the Christmas performances so I’m really busy and not to mention college stuff arghhh!) So my mom is really weird and has 3 (artificial) Christmas trees; one is 7 feet I believe, the other is 6 feet and the last one is either 5 or 6 feet, but thankfully she only put up the 7 and 6 feet ones this year. The theme for the 6 feet tree is pretty much just silver silver silver (and a random old invitation from my 1st birthday, don’t ask) so I’ll leave those pictures below. Maybe it’ll inspire your Christmas tree decor! Unless you already have it up, ours have been up since Thanksgiving, haha!

Most of, if not all, the ornaments are from Target (minus the little baby boots and the 1st birthday invitation haha). Target is life basically, I go there almost every week.

I really hope you enjoy these photos and can appreciate that Hannah is a busy girl! Dx Sorry that it isn’t the most exciting post of all, but I have many more planned and I’m compiling my list for December Favorites yay! I promise that another post will be coming sometime this week and hopefully next Saturday!

Until next time internet!

Hannah ❤
