Non-Committal: Job Edition

Are there any other students (high school or university) that has trouble with the prospect of committing to a job whilst studying in school????????

Hi friends,

That was seven thousand too many question marks…sorry. In all realness and honesty though, I want a job. Do I?? Or do I just want money? Probably the latter because let’s be real, who doesn’t want money, but am I emotionally ready to give up 6+ hours of my time on a given day in order to get that money? I’m thankful that I’m in a position where I don’t have an immediate necessity for that money other than for personal material desires and not to pay phone bills or car insurance or rent or any of those things that come with adulthood. It’s not as if I’m not capable of working a job because I know I am as I have done work…but my extent of work is week long piano/voice camps and devoting my school time to hard work in my choir program. Nothing too extreme…but is a part-time job even extreme?!?!? No!!! But I can’t push myself to do it!! Every summer since I turned 16 (which was actually about 10 months later since my birthday is right after summer ends….bummer) I have compiled job applications and filled them out (mostly) and yet NEVER submitted them! I’m almost positive that I have probably just put them off with an excuse of being too young (or I just always did that stuff too late, I don’t remember quite well).

Is it because I subconsciously think that school should come first? Have my parents instilled some type of fear in my system that I don’t quite know about because I’ve never had to pay mind to it?? Maybe I’m too focused and determined for my future job (let’s hope I’m teaching music!) that I don’t think I should commit myself to any other type of job because if you look at my past job(s)….I’m teaching music! I’ve wanted to babysit but since I don’t know anyone under the age of 14 and practically everyone’s parents are much more trusting and lenient than mine were (..are?) none of them need babysitters and my parents don’t even have friends with children young enough for babysitting, I’m a bit shit out of luck there. I also want to teach piano lessons but apparently my mom doesn’t want me giving lessons at my piano in our house…. yep. I’ve tried approaching some of my students from when I did student option last year but most of them are busy with the school musical so if I have any prospect there I have to wait at least another month.

So in my head I’ve concocted that I could do freelance jobs!!!!!!……”like what,” she says an afterthought. If I could get paid for writing blog posts that’d be GREAT, but not all of us are Zoella or Tanya Burr, are we? I’d love to get sent free stuff or sent to cool places and have to write posts about them but again, we’re not all that lucky.

Years ago when I first started arranging music, I thought to myself, “Wow! If I keep this up, I could sell my arrangements for extra money!” To be honest, I still think I could, but again, I have been so noncommittal with them lately and just have a bunch of unfinished arrangements. I don’t know what it is, but it’s becoming frustrated.

Am I just meant to be a student for the rest of my life? Who knows?! I don’t!! Please, if anyone could shed some light on this issue, I would really appreciate any advice (so long as it’s positive…which all of you have been so far but you never know when a bad seed might appear y’know?)

Disney World: Epcot!!

Hi friends!!

It’s Friday yet again and I miss Disney so much 😦 College life is going on as normal unfortunately, but the memory of these photos live on (that sounded really cheesy didn’t it?) Thankfully I had already gone to Disney World with my high school music program in April of 2015, so I knew exactly what I wanted to see and where I wanted to go! There are so many pictures that it’s hard to pick a few but hopefully I can make you feel like I actually went to these countries and not just Epcot!

I threw in a picture of me and the bae….MAX!! Baymax is a brand new addition to Epcot (thank god!) and they’re going to expand his little photo area to a whole San Fransokyo, it’s going to be great! Sorry it’s not as many photos as Harry Potter World but I am ready to impress for Magic Kingdom (I haven’t actually looked at the photos in awhile so I’m hoping that I can live up to my words!!)

Be ready for Magic Kingdom photos next yay!

Harry Potter World!!

Hello friends!

I realize that I am two posts behind. Friday the 15th was busy because it was the day before my plane ride back home from Florida, and the day after was exhausting. Then this past Friday the 22nd, blizzard time for the East Coast!! My internet was on the frizz so even though it’s still going on now…let’s attempt to post this anyway.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is probably the highlight of Universal Studios…okay not probably, it is the highlight. I would walk through the rest of the park and see a normal crowd of people but once you hit HP, dear god!! So many people!! But you know what, I didn’t even care all that much because you know that no one’s really there for the crowd, everyone is there to experience this little world based on a few books Jo Rowling wrote. It was incredible and since I went surrounding the death of the beloved Alan Rickman, everyone was so thoughtful about the current situation and it was just great. I’ll stop talking about my sappy feelings and include my pictures–

Review: Bobbi Brown Lip Color

Hi friends!

My aunt gave me this lipstick for Christmas, well more I was with her in Sephora and looking at it so she bought it for my gift but I still got it for Christmas! It took me probably 12 different swatches to decide which color I wanted (this is among different brand though, not just Bobbi Brown) and I ended up choosing it in 32 Rum Raisin.

The packaging is GORGEOUS. I partly chose this lipstick for it’s look and it’s brand name, since I’ve never really had a more high end lipstick. I don’t even own an M.A.C. lipsticks! Not sure if I’ve made a blog post about them, but I’ve only used Rimmel Kate Moss 107 and 08 (I think it’s 08, I don’t have it on me right now, ah!) which are great, but I needed to branch out a bit, y’know. On me, it’s a lighter than I thought it would be after swatching it which you can see below. Maybe I just didn’t put on enough on my lips, but it definitely looks darker on both the stick, the swatch, and on the website.

It’s pretty creamy upon first application with good pigmentation in my opinion, it definitely settles a little drier, not drying though–difference there. I don’t know that this is supposed to be a matte formula?? (I’m checking right now). Ah, okay, yes so I’m looking at the website now and it is described to be a creamy, semi-matte (yay Hannah! look at you with your make-up knowledge). But yes, referring back to what I said about it being lighter on me, I believe it’s one of those lipsticks that you can layer on and it will look alright with each layer. It isn’t moisturizing though, so put your chapstick or lip balm or whatever under before you apply it! Great value for my money (or my aunt’s money) if I do say so myself.

Recommend lip products below! I’d love to hear from you. 🙂

SacconeJoly Calendar – HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi friends!

I am so excited to start off 2016 with my Sacconejoly calendar!!…and you all of course! Unfortunately their calendar is not for sale anymore, they closed up shop in early November, so you couldn’t get your own copy but y’know maybe we could experience it together…through me!

This was supposed to be a “welcome 2016” post but I thought showing off my calendar would be more fun. But this is welcoming the new first page of 2016!! It counts right?? Let’s pretend it does.

I hope you’re all excited for the content to come because I know I am!! Thank you all again so much for being a part of my 2015, and I know that we’ll have an even bigger and better journey in 2016. Happy New Year!!

1 January 2016

P.S. I almost wrote 2015 there. Oops.

Thank You 2015

Hello once again friends!

I know this is a late post but I figured I would post it closer to the end of the year.

2015 has been such an unforgettable and crucial year in my life and I have had the best time (and the worst time but we won’t talk about that). My last year of high school, having my own students to teach and conduct in concerts, Disney World competitions, DISNEY WORLD, prom, graduation, my 18th birthday, starting college, CHRISTMAS….even though that happens every year, BUT CHRISTMAS! I don’t know how 2016 may top all of that.

It has been a wonderful year for this blog as well and even though I’m still not the most consistent blogger, I do believe I have definitely stepped it up in terms of content and amount this year compared to last. I’m so thankful for all the old followers keeping up with my posts and I’m so thankful for all the new ones! I hope you have enjoyed the content that I have put out this year, I am already planning a bunch of posts to start 2015 off with! So many exciting things coming up but I won’t reveal them just yet 😉 Probably because if I slack, then I don’t want to say that I’m going to do something and then not do it! I will definitely be more conscious of that in the upcoming year.

One of my new year’s resolutions, I guess. I’m not really a person who does those type of things, but maybe if you say the things you want to do out loud, it motivates you a tiny bit more to do them. My resolutions for 2016 probably involve posting more content, but not just quantity while lacking quality—WE’RE GONNA HAVE BOTH!!! (Hopefully). Also exercise. Need to lose that Christmas dinner weight! But just to be healthier and stronger in general I suppose. Also to vlog more regularly and maybe actually put those videos on public! They’re all on private right now and I don’t exactly edit and upload them regularly, but the content exists for me to watch whenever so that’s alright.

I’ve rambled too much I think (as usual). Tell me what new year’s resolutions you guys have for 2016! What have you most enjoyed about 2015? Do you have any favorite memories from past years, or favorites you’re hoping to make in a future year? Life is pretty crazy and unpredictable but it’s nice to daydream, right?

Thank you all so much for the fulfillment you have given me this year. The numbers aren’t huge but I’m so proud of them either way, even when it’s just one view for a whole day. Those stats bars are so crazy to me. I promise that 2016 will be even better, see you in the new year! -blaring horns and confetti and cheers-

Christmas Mugs | 3 days ’til Xmas!

Hi friends!

Happy first day of Winter! I hope you are having a wonderful Christmastime! Everyone knows Winter and Christmas are filled with lots of warm holiday drinks, so why not bring out all the Christmas themed mugs?! Mugs are also a great gift to give to someone because let’s be honest, you can never really have enough mugs. I’m pretty sure last Christmas (I gave you my heart), practically everyone who gave my choir teacher (including me) a Christmas gift, included a mug somewhere in there.

So here are a couple ideas to get you in the mood! Or maybe it’s mostly just me sharing my Christmas mug collection??? I could have sworn I had more though…
